march and april favorites

hi everyone! i hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. in this blog post, i’m just running through some of my newly discovered favorite brands, and the products that i’ve been loving these past few months, to wear them as winter to spring transition pieces. as always, the products featured here are primarily sustainable, because i’ve recently become really passionate about sustainability in every day items and fashion.

outerknown

outerknown’s “commitment as a brand is to keep learning, exploring, and innovating,” and this mission is definitely something they do in every single item. the intention behind the brand as a whole, and even behind every single item, is astonishing. they always aim to choose sustainability, and 90% of the fibers they source are organic. you definitely need to check out outerknown- it doesn’t get much better than this.

first up, we have the lou cord puffer. it’s incredibly soft and comfortable, lightly-insulated, and it doesn’t get much better than that beautiful pink color! just in case you don’t love the pink, it also comes in a pretty burnt orange color as well.

i sized up one size to make sure that i got the perfect oversized fit that i was looking for, and i’d definitely recommend doing so. this is the perfect addition to any closet- and it’s sustainable. you need this puffer in your life (and closet).

next, these are the sur sweatpants in “old vine.” i wanted to include some options for men in this blog, because i know that my content tends to focus on women. although these sweatpants are men’s pants, i think they can also be gender neutral, depending on the fit you’re looking for. the quality is unmatched- and you can tell the second you touch the fabric. there’s also some really unique zippered detail for the pocket, which i absolutely love.

hylo athletics

hylo athletics believes “in the power of sport to inspire positive change and are on a journey creating performance products in a better way.” their sneakers are made of as many natural materials as possible (including corn spring, corn fiber, natural rubber, algae bloom, water based glue, organic cotton, polyester, and castor bean oil), and are incredibly sustainable while remaining fashion forward and comfortable. they carry both men’s and women’s styles, in four different color ways.

i am a huge shoe fan, so i’ve tried my fair amount of sneakers. these are easily my new favorites. they’re incredibly lightweight, high quality, and comfortable, and they go with literally every piece of clothing i wear. i’m also prone to ankle injuries, and these shoes gave me the perfect amount of support so i could wear them all day without any issues.

if you’re not already convinced, i’m an athlete and i wore these shoes for a practice, and performed incredibly well. these are the perfect pair for a workout to a quick trip to the grocery store. they’re also washing machine safe. what more could you want?

the icing on the cake? when you’re finished with them, you can even send the shoes back to hylo athletics and they’ll reuse them in future hylo products. did someone say closed loop?

edit: my mom apparently loves these shoes just as much as i do because they suddenly disappeared from my duffle on my last trip home. i guess the love for hylo athletics runs in the family!

these all weather boots are just as they’re named — truly durable and comfortable for all different kinds of weather. i’m also in love with the stone color, but all of their other color options are cute as well! i’ve been pairing these boots with higher socks and jeans for the perfect cozy look, and i already know you’re going to love them just as much as i do.

i wanted to make sure i featured some men’s pieces in this blog as well, so i’d like to introduce you to my dad’s new favorite shoes. he’s a businessman, so it was really important to him to find a pair of comfortable shoes that he could wear to the office, and right to dinner afterwards. these are the perfect day to night (and winter to spring) shoes — just take it from my dad!
